Investment Seminar
CTSOK has been targeting about organizing a seminar in Turkey in order to share experience and promote incentives and opportunities in the Czech Republic. On 11th of October, 2017, the Chamber reached the target and organized a seminar in the cooperation with CzechInvest and supports of both Czech and Turkish Embassies.
Yeye Agency has been involved in Czech-Turkish Chamber of Commerce since 2014. We support the Chamber in their business development and marketing activities. During the organization process of the seminar, Yeye Agency team altogether take an active role and worked to organize efficient and beneficial seminar both in the means of programme and networking opportunities for attendees.
In the organization of the seminar, we have divided into the teams and progressed in a planned and programmed manner.
Our targets and investment seminar topics:
- To stimulate commercial relations and activities between the Czech Republic and Turkey.
- To inform attendees about specific sectors and answer their complex questions about the investment eco system
- To give information in an interactive way about potentials, procedures, investment conditions and incentives in the Czech Republic.
- Targeting not only investors and companies that expand their businesses to Europe through the Czech Republic but also associations, unions, institutions such as R&D Center
The chamber approached CzechInvest with the cooperation offer. As the Chamber’s offer is parallel with CzechInvest’s goals, the sides easily agreed on cooperation. The Chamber and CzechInvest agreed target sectors are automotive, aerospace, nanotechnology and IT & Software Development sector. At each stage of the seminar organization, the Chamber had progressed in cooperation with the Investment and Business Development Agency of the Czech Republic – CzechInvest.
One of the key points in the seminar organization was the selection of the organizers. For this purpose Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Istanbul, Commercial Counselor of Turkish Embassy in Prague, Commercial Section of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ankara supported and lead the Ctsok and CzechInvest during the Seminar organizing process.
The Chamber also approached to both Czech and Turkish Embassies for further support. Embassador of General Consulate of Czech Republic in Istanbul Mr. Petr Mareš took the support one step further and he presented in the opening speech.
After establishing the theme of the event and collaborating with organizers, chamber team bifurcated as a Marketing team for seminar Marketing and Promotion and Business development team for managing people and working with speakers.
Business Development
Organizing an event requires extensive planning and preparation with most work implemented at least a few months before the actual event.
In reality, however, much groundwork has been worked on for the purpose of developing the right atmosphere in addition to a beneficial experience to participants. Our biggest target was to reach and communicate with industrial institutions and organizations, associations, and technology centers in Turkey. The reason for this is to communicate with the right responsible people and ensure the participation of right/target people who may even take even active role in our seminar.
Commercial Counselor of Turkish Embassy in Prague also got in contact with the related Turkish authorities to invite them to the seminar.
Another issue that should be decided during this process was the venue of
the seminar. Venue selection is highly dependent on the scale of the event, because of that reason The Chamber cooperated with the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO).
On the reaching to target attendees and promoting the seminar, ITO take a very active role and highly support the Chamber and CzechInvest. At the seminar Assistant General Secretary Mr. Uluç Hacıhasanoğlu had a part in the opening speech.
Marketing and Promotion
We started with identifying our target institutions, chambers, associations, companies and opinion leaders. Thanks to the support of Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO), for the Chamber it was much easier to reach the targets.
Identifying targets followed by creating the content for the website, designing the layout of the website and developing the website. After our marketing team created the content both in Turkish and English and working on the design of the layout, our developer teammate developed the website. After deciding on targets and developing the website, the next step was to deciding on the marketing channels to share the information and the latest news about seminar. We decided on cold calling for the first contact and follow-up mails, then mailing to our already existing contacts, and ongoing posts on the Chamber’s and ITO’s social media channels and releases on the seminar’s, Chamber’s and ITO’s.
The Chamber’s introductory “Doing Brochures in Czech Republic” brochures are updated and printed for attendees.
The Seminar Day
The Investment Seminar started with the opening speeches of organizers and continued with the presentation of the automotive, aerospace, nanotechnology and IT & Software Development sector.
The Chamber informed the Turkish investors about how the operation will be managed and enlarged in the Czech Republic. In the second section, information was provided by CzechInvest on investment incentives provided to investors.
Participants had also the opportunity to meet with speakers. During the round table meetings, speakers and investor discussed their investment plans and and learn more about the incentives and how the Chamber can consult and guide them with their investments.
